Posts about FORKSTER’S Top #15 ~Unsigned Bands of the Week~: Written and Listings Show! written by timforkster
We just entered this chart at #4, which is pretty cool if you ask us!! Great to hear people are liking What I Was Worth :)

A design for a lyric insert we did ft. Oliver’s ridiculous baby face. This was going to be a 10x10 square that would fold into quarters and fit inside the CD case.

Thanks to those who’ve already gone out and bought our EP, we’ve covered the last of our costs on getting the first hundred CD copies of What I Was Worth made. That’s pretty freaking cool to us.
To those of you who’ve not heard our new EP, take a listen on our Soundcloud or on Bandcamp. You can also still get our free single, “The Long Wait,” on our official website.

It’s release day, everyone! We’re ridiculously excited. This is a stream of What I Was Worth in its entirety, starting with the first track (duh), which is titled “Collingwood, ON” (named after a place Oliver once lived very near to).
If you like anything on this EP, and we hope you’ll enjoy all 17 minutes and 13 seconds of it, please share it by reblogging this post, or sharing it with friends on Facebook, tweeting about it, etc.
You can still get the free single “The Long Wait” from our website (again, please tweet about/share it), and this whole EP is available to purchase on our Bandcamp page.
We hope you guys enjoy what we’ve made as much as we enjoyed making it.

In case one tune wasn’t enough, have another one! This one’s called December. More folky, still fairly rock. Plus, four-part vocal harmonies!
You can get this when you pre-order our EP, which is out on Friday! CD copies will go on sale then. You can also get our free single, The Long Wait, on our website! Just tweet about it or share it with friends, please!

MORE MUSIC OMG
Hey guys, Jamie here. Oliver forgot to mention the fact that we’re streaming ANOTHER SONG FROM WHAT I WAS WORTH!! It’s called December, go check it out.

This is a new song, called “The Long Wait,”off our second EP, What I Was Worth.
If you’ve listened to us for any length of time, this song is probably not what you were expecting. We know it’s a departure from our old material. We’re headed in a new direction and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.You can download this song for free from our brand-new website (the link is at the bottom of this post). All we ask in return is that you please reblog this post, like us on Facebook, tweet about us, share us with your friends, whatever. Your support means literally everything to us as an indie band, seeing as we have a small (but oh-so-loving) fanbase and no record label or music industry helpers of any kind. Just a bit of help from our friends goes a really long way towards us making it somewhere in this crazy business. You’ll see the whole spiel on our website, where there’s already a pre-made tweet/like button you can press! Technology!
The whole EP will be out on Friday. We hope you love listening to it as much as we loved making it.

If you like free new music, you will love tomorrow.

Not too long ago, we did a photoshoot with our band-best-friend and incredibly talented photographer Alexa Pavliuc (click the link to see some of her awesome concert photography featuring bands like Two Door Cinema Club, Hollerado, Tokyo Police Club, etc.). We’ll post more from the shoot soon enough, but for now take a look at this one, featuring Sophie making a very silly gesture and Jamie looking a little concerned about how he plans to get down from such great heights.
We had a lot of people out walking their dogs staring at us and giving us generally strange looks while we were taking this photo.
-
A lot of people have asked about the photo that we’re using for the cover of What I Was Worth, so this post is a bit of an explanation!
We decided we wanted to use photos from our childhood as the artwork, so we all brought our favourite ones to band practice. These are the ones we came up with. They got scanned onto the computer and from there on, it was a ton of messing around with Photoshop.
The cover of the EP is a picture of Andrew from when he was probably only 4 or 5 years old.
We’re going to try and use one photo of each of us in the physical copy of What I Was Worth, which we’ve not totally figured out yet. Probably as little lyric sheets or something.
